Hong Kong holds the trading and banking centre; the other entities carry local sourcing, distribution and holding roles — so a counterparty can deal with a Bluewater company in its own market.

The team

The People Behind the Desk

Twenty-five people across eight locations. These five carry the group between them.

Business Ethics and Values

The Cardinal Driving Forces

“We will be the employer of choice and the partner of choice by focusing on our values.”

Agility

Quotes and bookings that move at the pace the order needs.

Dependability

Lead times that hold, and documents that arrive clean.

Innovation

New lines opened where buyers ask for them.

Transparency

Pricing a counterparty can audit line by line.

Integrity

The same terms told to every side of a trade.

Flexibility

Incoterms and payment shaped around the buyer.

Value Centric

Quality treated as a cost saver, not an overhead.

What the values are for

They describe the companyโ€™s behaviour and actions to the outside world. By following them it continues to give its customers quality services and products.

How they are practised

A time-tested, institutionalised process rests on the belief that quality is a cost saver โ€” lead times that hold, documents that arrive clean, pricing that can be audited.

The process

Four Steps, Every Order

From the first enquiry to a clean set of documents at the receiving bank.

01

Enquiry and vendor selection

Specifications matched against approved mills and factories, with two or more quotations on every line.

02

Contract and terms

Price, incoterms and payment agreed against confirmed demand.

03

Inspection before shipment

Quantity, grade and packing checked at the works, with third-party inspection where the buyer asks.

04

Documents and delivery

Clean documentation and every consignment tracked to delivery by the local office.

Sourcing and Vendor Selection

A line is quoted from mills and factories already on the approved list, and never from a single source — two or more quotations sit behind every price that goes to a buyer.

The industrial half of the book is sourced mainly out of China; the consumer half moves in volume, with textiles out of India and China and electronics out of South China.

Quality and Pre-Shipment Inspection

Quantity, grade and packing are verified at the works before a container is sealed. Where a buyer wants an independent eye, a third-party surveyor is appointed and their report travels with the documents.

Quality is treated as a cost saver, not an overhead: a grade agreed in writing and checked before shipment is cheaper than a claim after arrival.

Contracts, Documents and Delivery

Container lots and charter parcels are booked against the agreed incoterm, and mixed lines are consolidated under one bill of lading where that suits the buyer.

Documentation is prepared to the letter of credit or collection terms and presented clean at the receiving bank. The local group office tracks the shipment to delivery.

Trade Finance and Payment Terms

Price, incoterms and payment are agreed against confirmed demand before a booking is made — letters of credit, documents against payment, or advance.

Hong Kong holds the group’s banking centre, so a counterparty can deal locally while the instrument sits with a Hong Kong bank.

Private Label and OEM Supply

Several lines — handicraft and homeware, workwear, packaging consumables among them — are supplied private label, produced to a buyer’s own specification, brand and packing.
